Hieronymus Bosch’s masterpiece gets a tongue-in-cheek twist for Berlin Fashion Week 2021.
Bosch’s orgiastic triptych Garden of Earthly Delights (1490–1500) inspired our collaboration with fashion label Lala Berlin.
A group of guest artists interpreted the indulgent pleasure-world as one of the seven sins in their trademark style for the brand’s t-shirt line.
For their social media campaign, we produced unique motion and sound design for each image to emphasise the insatiable aspects and dark humour of each sin, whilst keeping in line with the brand’s fun style.
Images from each artwork were extracted and enlivened with motion and sound. We shot the model in front of a green screen and asked them to respond to the themes through movement and gesture. These vignettes were superimposed onto the animation to build a more fantastical world.
To add another layer of interpretation to the themes, we created unique sound design as a combination of analogue and electronic processes for each artwork: recording breathy sighs and a percussive belt beat as heard in Lust and chomping, slurping mouth effects for Gluttony.
