An immersive game for champions: our latest full sensory motion-tracked spatial experience in collaboration with Sunst Studio uplifts UEFA 24 and Nike's latest brand activation.
Concept
Together with Sunst Studio, we engineered a football exhibition at Nike's flagship store in Berlin to coincide with the UEFA championship. We programmed and installed an interactive football trials cage where participants selected one of three football boots to kickstart a competitive activation experience. The game attracted over 1,500 players with many returning to try and topple the leader board to win a pair of shoes.
Custom User Interaction Playback System
Our custom-made TouchDesigner-based playback system enabled the interactivity between the motion, UX/UI and the sound design.
By integrating the backend from our immersive instruments software and hardware solutions range, participants register to play for each of the three games via a graphical interface and view their final position on the leader board screens.
Motion Tracking Sensors
Five industry standard light sensors inside the cage track the movement of the player. An LED strip maps the bottom of the cage to highlight where the ball should target; visual messaging shows the player's progress.
Gamified Footwear Trial
Players choose from one of three shoes with their own corresponding game mode associated with it, including: speed, touch and precision. These characteristics double up as a user testing device and help the game to evolve through challenges and bonuses earned by the player. <<what technology linked the shoe to the game mode??>>

Responsive Sound
The sound design responds to the emotions associated with competitive gaming. The minimal electronic sound for the tutorial develops into a playful and positive intro to set an energetic tone for the challenge ahead. Dynamic sound effects track the lights and communicate when the player loses or gains points. A rhythmic melody keeps the tempo high during the game and picks up speed as each game level is passed.
