Sleek, seductive aesthetics for a new legacy of product films. Revolutionizing medical product staging by re-imagining equipment as virtual spatial installations.
Radical, stunning, and spatial
Until now, the industry standard for storytelling and aesthetics in medical product films has relied on sterile, factual staging. We sought to disrupt the tradition and pave a new way to showcase medical products. ZEISS embraced this radical approach as “The MONOMANGO look” – a newly defined highly aesthetic mechanism.
Staging
The devices are placed into gallery-like virtual environments which refer to the devices' strongest technological achievements such as RGB LED illumination, digitalization or advanced ophthalmic technology.
Visual Storytelling
The products' key features are re-imagined as virtual spatial installations to explain and elevate the devices' sophisticated functionalities.
Materials
The use of materials such as light-refractive glass, glossy porcelain and chrome support the sleek aesthetics and underline the high-end manufacturing of ZEISS` medical products.
Lighting
An impactful use of light and shadow creates a strong cinematic language for the product introduction and reveal. From beginning to end the scenes evolve from moody to illuminated.
Sound design
Conventional sound design in product films often leans into emotive classical strings. Here, we move into a hybrid zone of contemporary electronics, where sound corresponds with the materials. We hear, for example, glassy, granulated textures when lenses are in focus or electronic pulses when data flows are visualized. Overall, the sound reinforces the sophisticated technologies presented whilst maintaining emotional impact.
